December Update

Perilous Waif is finally complete. At 31 chapters this is by far my longest work to date, so at least you're going to get a substantial book to make up for the wait. I'm currently doing editing and procuring cover art, but this should only take a few weeks. The planned release date for the book will be February 1st. The audiobook version will take a bit longer, since of course it has to go through production, but it should end up being available sometime in the spring.

After that I'll be back to working on the next Daniel Black novel, Revenant. I'm tentatively planning to have that out sometime in the middle of 2017, and I'll be reporting progress here as usual.

  2. Awesome, can't wait until next year! I'm kinda impressed that it'll only take ~4 months to write Revenant. Unless you already have a rough guideline planned out?

    1. I had actually started writing it early this year, before I decided that trying to work on two books at the same time was a bad idea. So I've got a plot outline and the first few chapters written already, and of course the Daniel Black novels are both shorter and easier to write than Perilous Waif.

    2. Which month? I do not recall it. I recall there being a precursor story whose elements made into the Daniel Black series.

  8. Well that's the best news I have heard in a while. Thank you very much Mister Brown! :) I have so many fantasy novels that I have trouble finding interesting new ones, and still I think your books are the best. It must 5 times that I have read the trilogy and I can't wait for whatever comes next. May you live long and write many a book Mr. Brown :)

  9. Looking forward to the next Daniel Black novel. I found them simultaneously nerve-wracking and side-splitting.

As the saying goes: faster, please!

  10. Does Perilous Waif have lewd bits?

Going to admit, those are the source of about 50% of my enjoyment of Daniel Black.

    1. That's been gathering dust for years now iirc, well since before he became a (semi-)professional author.

I doubt he has the time, or at this point inclination, to pen fanfic when he could spend it writing things that actually pay and advance his career instead.
