Status Update

Wow, has it really been that long? I seriously need to post more often.

Well, I'm pleased to report that the next Daniel Black book is coming along nicely. I'm currently working on chapter seven of the new book, which is titled Extermination. It should end up being about the same length as Black Coven, and I expect to release it around the end of September.

  1. On one hand, it's like "yay September!". But on the other hand, it's like "boo September."

I really love this series and where you are taking the plotline. It's both very creative and realistic. Other readers seem to think just because you have power, you don't have to make comprises. Everybody has to make comprises they don't like. Even if you feel uncomfortable doing it, doesn't mean they won't kill you if you don't. May as well get something out of it while it's being offered.

  2. Thanks for any other excellent post. Where else may just anyone get that type of info in such a perfect means of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I am at the look for such information.

  3. Hey William, how about releasing a Chapter One "PREVIEW" to help tide us over until the end of September? Otherwise some of your loyal fans may decide to "Duct Tape" you to the chair in front of your keyboard "in order to encourage you to quickly finish the 3rd book!"

Just kidding... But we do love this series and are very eager to see many more books written!

  4. Great series. Huge fan. I agree having a preview will not only satiated your fans for a time, but it'll also give your fans a chance to help you correct any minor spelling, grammar, or plot problems. And if you decided to add a few more chapters I won't say no either. Once again can't wait for book 3. Thanks for all your hard work in getting it done so fast.

  6. Also a huge fan. I love scientific magic types.

Here's an important question that hasn't been asked yet.

    Slaves.

Are their slave pens in the city? It seems that their are magically bound people, so their should be slaves and a market for that kind of thing.

Also criminals. Book 2 had lots of the city's government being killed. there has to be an Mafia or something for Daniel's enemies to work with.

Another idea. Is it possible for Daniel to make monsters from ordinary creatures? Like taking bugs and turning them into man' sized Kaiju creatures. Some disposable shock troops or something he doesn't care if they're killed.

    1. I would think that it depends on the material (being that he is working on) but he would likely have some personal moral issues making fearless/mindless shock troops. Also I'm not sure but would flesh magic work with something not technically "flesh"?

  9. Loving the series so far. I'm just wondering of we are going to see him weaponize his flesh magic some. Biological warfare or just shields that attack nerves and/or paralyze intruders.

  13. Question: Is this a typo: "That was typical. Beri was a slender brunette, rather cute and surprisingly clever for an illiterate medieval peasant"

I thought Beri was literate as per Fimbulwinter when she read the book on witch binding.

  17. Im excited for the next book but I hope the author elaborates the aftermath of the relationship between Avilla and Daniel. I know if I saw woman i love doing things with another man, the image would haunt me forever. It would be completely unrealistic to continue on as if nothing happened. There should be a discomfort and strain between the two as they seek to overcome the betrayal that took place. I understand that she was under a compulsion but that kind of betrayal is not easy to forget, especially for a guy like Daniel who already witnessed his wife cheating on him. I just hope the author at least touches upon this subject since the books characters and their depth is part of its strength.
